Sorry for the different format, made this on another forum first. And a lack of Kiggle canon from this forum because of the same reason.
Name: Zin Laz (Zin from the Nest Laz)
Nickname: Zin or Z
ID: TH-011, The current eleventh ranked T'vaoan Hunter employed by the Kig-Yar Guild Eayn's Grasp
Faction: Independent.
Rank: Formally a Covenant Murmillo, now Mev-ut Hunter, occasional soldier of fortune, and combat instructor.
Race: Kig-Yar, T'vaoan Subspecies
AI: (optional) None
Appearance:
A slightly taller than average T'vaoan male with a relatively scar free face, due to the fact he always wore his helmet during the Human Covenant war. But one that has clearly seen years of combat as his hands, arms, and chest all bear many scars from the war. These are often covered up with his armor and clothing when he doesn't have them on as he doesn't like to show off the service he was forced into. His feather mane and arm feathers are dyed a dull green which fade to black at their tips.
For clothing Zin often just wears a simple shirt and then a vest over it, a slightly puffy one to help keep him warm in some of the colder environments - that also happens to have some light armored inserts them to help also keep him safe. Chest rigs can easily fit over the vest to carry ammunition, supplies, or additional armor if needed. A carry belt with places for supplies as well as one of his two knives, simple pants and then just coverings for the top of his feet. He does have boots but rarely wears them unless he is heading into an industrial complex. His second knife is also sheathed on his left ankle just above where his pants stop. He also has a pair of dark tinted goggles that are often resting on the top of his head, just before his feathers, that have the same kind of simple HUD that his helmet does for hunting - while also hiding and protecting his eyes when the need arrises.
Weaponry is kept simple however as Zin has a UNSC DMR that he actually purchased and didn't steal from a dead Marine, as many Humans assume, that he owns a suppressor for. Then in addition to his Kig-Yar knives he has a well worn plasma pistol for the times when he can't spend time reloading. He owns another pistol, the two he used during the war, and a few other Human weapons but they are more for enjoyment and not for work.
Armor:
His main protection comes in the form of slightly faded Murmillo Combat Armor, helmet as well. The same basic armor he wore in service to the now defunct Covenant Empire. The armor itself has been replaced when needed but someone who served in the War would recognize it immediately from its shape as well as its shoulder armor and short helmet.
Its color however is not the normal Murmillo Orange, as while that was easy to see on the battlefield for identification purposes when hunting a target you often don't want to be as easily picked out. So instead of bright Orange Zin has had it painted a more duller shade of green with some brown mixed to better camouflage himself on the hunt. But should his target be in a city or other build up area he often foregoes his armor to blend in more with the urban setting.
For tech the only advanced tech on the armor besides the basic HUD in the helmet would be the small wrist shields in the armored bracers, not often used now but maintained as they did save his life many times during the war.
Personality:
Due to the fact he often has to speak with others to find out information about a target from the city or planet they are hiding on Zin is actually a lot more respectful than many would expect a T'vaoan to be. Rather than brash and hissy he is more quiet and methodical. When its Humans or Sangheili this is mainly just a necessary act as he has to talk with them for his job even if he hates them for what they are. Most of them time they are rude after he tries to open with niceness and nearly every time there are more people to ask so its not too much of an issue.
Strengths:
- An excellent shot and also very skilled up close in a knife fight - while also good at passing these skills onto others.
- Very athletic with strong endurance to leap and chase down targets.
- Can speak Human English, Sangheili, and the Kig-Yar language so getting information is much easier for him.
Weaknesses:
- Has a tendency to focus too much on the job at hand and ignore other individuals around that are not the target.
- Has a very low opinion on Humans and Sangheili but thankfully he can mostly avoid them to not have it become an issue.
- Has very little skill or experience driving vehicles, ground or air - lots of taxi's and carpooling for Zin.
History:
Born on an Asteroid colony Zin had always been destined for a life of combat one way or another. Either by joining a gang, the police force, or the Covenant. As the Asteroid was a hive of villainy and murder Zin quickly choose the Covenant for himself. Being shipped off as a Minor to a T'vaoan Champion's force Zin's only former training was the fighting on the station - but the Murmillo's and Majors were actually eager to train the young fluff so he would live to see more than one battle. Everything from marksmanship to close combat was taught and gladly learned by Zin as the force moved to and from battle grounds.
It was during this time where Zin developed his large dislike of Humans after watching them flit incessantly from cowardice to cruelty at the drop of a hat during the war. And while the Sangheili were rarely better with their brutality under the guise of Honor at least the Humans fought. The Sangheili he saw seemed to enjoy just to command from the backlines and sending him and his allies in to do the actual fighting. But as he under their strict watch Zin kept these thoughts to himself and his File. But the Champion was impressed with his tenacity against the Humans and growing kill count and so he was soon leading a file of his own.
Like the Majors and Murmillos before him Zin did his best to train the Minors under him as best he could to fight. His experience from his Minor days also let him lead his file through many dangers by often taking a longer route around the battlefield to avoid the main confrontation to strike the enemies in the flank or rear and keep his troops safe while also crippling the Humans. This kind of work eventually landed him the orange armor and arm shields of a Murmillo.
A decently decorated Murmillo Zin was as surprised as most of the Covenant ground forces when the San 'Shyuum kicked out the Sangheili from their ancient position of Honor Guards. And what followed was a brief time of turmoil and rapid reassignment as the Sangheili Zin had served under shunned or downright attacked him for being spys or soldiers for the Jiralhanae. The large amount of mistrust eventually led to the Champion of Zin's force hijaacking a small Covenant Lich and packing in his force and fleeing the turmoil.
The situation quickly culminated in Human and Sangheili victory. The Kig-Yar celebrated the victory as well as it meant that the Sangheili were no longer going to be controlling their species. The Lich soon starting to deposit the force off at known Kig-Yar colonies so those that wished could return to their families. But Zin had terrible memories of his family and still revealed in combat. So instead he joined a Kig-Yar work guild which was starting to open its businesses to the galaxy at large. It was here where Zin met the Hunters that he would once again learn from and soon join their ranks, and through the past several years has worked his way up the rankings of the hunters to be just on the cusp of being in the top ten of the large Guild. At least in the Hunter division. Zin having gathered a quite substantial amount of wealth from all the Bounty Hunting, but still works eagerly as he has not tired of the Hunt by a long shot yet.
